Princess Lilibet only saw her grandpa King Charles once during Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee, but he still made sure to give her a birthday gift.
Tom Quinn, a royal specialist, shares that Princess Lilibet got a special present from King Charles for her third birthday today.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle threw a big birthday bash at their house in Montecito, California. They asked their best friends to come, but some couldn’t make it because of the problems in the Royal Family.
King Charles wasn’t invited, but he still wanted to celebrate the event. He wrote a sweet letter to his granddaughter and gave her a present. Quinn said, “King Charles sent a present and a message because he didn’t want to forget about Lilibet’s birthday completely.”
The king has a special present that he’s keeping for when the family stops fighting. “He wants to get something nice for Lilibet too, but not right now,” he explained. “Last year, he gave Prince George a beautiful wooden swing with his name on it. But he’s waiting until the family drama calms down. Meghan has rules about what gifts are okay, so the king has to be careful.”
But Lilibet’s party had famous people like Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry. Harry and Meghan chose to have a big party before Lilibet’s birthday instead of buying lots of gifts, and they invited a bunch of famous guests to their house in California. Perry and Bloom came to the party with their daughter Daisy, who is just a little older than Lilibet.
Ellen DeGeneres, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Oprah Winfrey were among the guests, all of whom reside in the same neighborhood as the couple. Notably, the Royal Family did not make the guest list. Quinn commented, “It is quite shocking that none of the members of the Royal Family were invited to Lilibet’s party.”
