Prince Harry and Meghan ‘in tears and furious’ after being hit by major blow
Prince Harry reportedly felt deeply hurt and angry after being evicted from Frogmore Cottage, with a royal expert claiming that he was left “absolutely furious and in tears.” The eviction followed the release of his memoir, Spare, in March 2023. At the time, King Charles III requested that Harry and Meghan Markle vacate the property, which had been their UK residence.
According to a source, the eviction marked the end of the Sussexes’ connection to the UK in terms of a royal residence, and if they wished to have a home there in the future, they would need to purchase one privately. By June 2023, the couple had returned the keys to Frogmore Cottage, and their belongings were moved to California.
Royal commentator Tom Quinn suggested that Harry perceived the eviction as a “cruel rejection” and a painful reminder of the tumultuous divorce between his parents, King Charles and Princess Diana. Quinn explained that Harry did not fully grasp that stepping down from his royal duties would result in losing certain privileges, including the use of a royal home. This situation seemed especially unfair to Harry, who felt entitled to certain benefits despite his changed status.
Quinn concluded that while some view Harry as a privileged individual behaving like a “spoiled brat,” Harry himself feels like a perpetual victim, struggling with his family’s decisions and the public’s perception of him.
