Although the ESPN analyst received some criticism for the error, he may have been on the right track.
“So I might’ve actually broken a story,” he added.

After one of his many impressive plays, cameras panned to an overjoyed Swift, who cheered alongside her father, Scott.
“The missus likes it,” Aikman told viewers before co-host Joe Buck chimed in to note the pair weren’t “married.”
“Oh I know,” Aikman replied. “I’m sure I’m in trouble for saying that.”
The Hall of Famer was right as social media users quickly called him out for the blunder. However, during the podcast Wednesday, Aikman said he didn’t understand why it was such “a big deal.”
“Was I on a tightrope right there?” he jokingly asked, noting he was shocked to see so many headlines about the on-air mishap.
“I’m thinking, ‘Gosh if this is newsworthy… like really?’” he said.
Reps for Kelce declined Page Six’s request for comment. Meanwhile, Swift’s team did not immediately respond.
Swift and Kelce’s romance has dominated headlines ever since they began dating last summer. While rumors of a looming engagement have run rampant for months, there is no evidence the twosome have taken their romance to the next level.
